Not something I expect to see in Yorkshire. Went to Harewood house hoping to get some Red Kite shots, but they weren't playing. I like the colour on this so thought I'd add it.

 Taken at Dearne Valley Old Moor RSPB reserve, this just flew by below me and I just caught it right.

 What a beautiful bird the Great Crested Grebe is, and I love this one, with it's striking red eyes, particularly the one on the side of the sun. Watching them fishing was a delight, and we were even treated to their "weed dance", which was fantastic but not of my shots made the grade, unlike Brian Rafferty, who was also there - see here for his.

 Whilst out looking for an elusive Kingfisher, we came across this which I am reliably informed is a Four Spotted Chaser (Libellula quadrimaculata)! I just liked it, and this is the best of the hundred photos I took of it!

 It's such a shame there aren't more red squirrels in the UK as they are so much more fun and better to photograph as the colours are so much nicer.
<br />
<br />This was taken in Berlin, on the edge of some woods, and there were quite a few of them and obviously used to people.

 Watching the World Cup Final in Montefrio, Spain was a great night since they won and there were celebrations well into the night as people drove round and round the town sounding horns.

Lothersdale Snow

 <img src="http://www.jjphotos.co.uk/blog/thumbnails/thumb_20100110175442_img_2327.jpg"><br/>
 With all this snow around, I just had to get out and take a few. It's a shame the village pond is not in the sun at this time of year, although it makes some nice shadows in the background. The geese were looking hopeful I was going to feed them, but the swan didn't move from it's spot as it had a sygnet close by.

 This was in Lossiemouth, Scotland. I spotted the heron sitting there with a nice relection in the water. It looks like I've done some HDR on it, but I didn't, it is just as taken except I lightened the beach a little.

 Just outside Portnockie on the north coast of Scotland is this amazing rock with a lot of different birds around it. I just caught both the wave and the seagull flying.
